The treatment is usually very well tolerated. Most hyaluronic acid fillers already contain a mild anaesthetic (lidocaine), so injections are barely felt. A numbing cream may also be applied for additional comfort.

Skinboosters such as Profhilo® contain less cross-linked hyaluronic acid, similar to the body’s natural hyaluron. They are not intended to add volume but to deeply hydrate and revitalize the skin, providing freshness and elasticity. They can be used on the face, neck, or hands.
When performed correctly by experienced doctors, the treatment is considered very safe. Mild redness or swelling at the injection sites may occur but usually disappears within hours or days. Only highly purified, synthetic hyaluronic acid is used, making allergies extremely rare.
For the first 24 hours, avoid intense physical activity, sauna, tanning beds, and direct sun exposure. You should also avoid pressing or rubbing the treated areas. The final results appear after a few days, once any swelling has subsided.
Although both reduce wrinkles, they work differently:

Botox relaxes facial muscles to smooth expression lines (e.g., forehead or frown lines).

Hyaluronic acid restores lost volume and hydrates the skin from within.

Combining both methods often produces exceptionally natural and balanced results.
